Normally, I would end a DB Bench Press exercise with the eccentric part: the part where you bring down the weight slowly to the sides of your chest, and then put it on my lap before putting down. I’d also normally end a DB Curl with the eccentric part. I recently tried ending them with the concentric part before putting it down, ending it with a SQUEEZE instead of a STRETCH. Is this a thing? What do you all think?
And is there a general rule of thumb for any exercise? That a regular exercise must always have a concentric and an eccentric phase?
