I have recently had my hours cut at my 2nd job which brings in the majority of my income. I was working over 30 and they cut me down to just over 10. I don’t bring enough money in from my other job to pay my bills and rent. They know this, but I think its a matter of they can pay someone else less than they pay me to do the same work.
With all that said, I know they pay some people under the table. I know they report our wages as more than what they actually are. They also force every employee to sign a document to allow them to deduct $10.00 out of each paycheck for “insurance” which I believe they just put in a fund so that they don’t have to actually use their insurance when accidents happen(its a valet company).
I want to hit them where it hurts, but I don’t know if I can or how to go about it. More importantly, I don’t have any evidence. Is there any recourse for me? I have heard the IRS gives rewards to people for ratting on others for tax fraud/evasion. I assume paying under the table falls under that category.
I would appreciate any advice on this, thanks.
