Electrical Stimulus Time Lag

I’m doing a project for school, and I need to know a term, but I can’t find the term name. Basically what I want to know is: when an electrical stimulus is applied to a muscle, it takes a small amount of time for the muscle to contract, since the signal has to create an action potential, travel along axon, etc etc. What is that time lag called?
Thanks!

“Electrochemical delay” is one term I’ve seen used in the literature. Also “Electro-mechanical delay”, but electrochemical is more common.
