Egypt: Land of Necrophilia

This is just mildly disturbing.

Pretty much Egypt is proposing a law to make it legal for a husband or wife to have sex with their dead spouse for up to 6 hours after death. Apparently because marriage is considered binding even after death.

Moral disgust aside, it seems like this would be really terrible for death investigators.

How would that work for the woman?

How long does rigamortis take?

I’d imagine this would be “business as usual” as far as the wives typical response to their husband’s boom boom time

I think the most disturbing thing here is that apparently this happens often enough for the lawmakers there to actually make this a law.

Can someone find a non-Daily mail article (they can have some really awful article sometimes)

I sincerely, out of a mild believe in genuine human decency, do not believe this can be true or as it is written in the article

Anyone in-the-know know how this works?

I just looked it up and rigor mortis generally starts about 3 hours after death, so I guess that is why they made the window 6 hours.

Silicone, syringe/needle and duct tape?[/quote]

Did you read this somewhere else or are you only assuming this based on the possible passing of this law?

I really hope so too, man.

I have a lot of in laws there… like 40+ …

if Egypt is gonna turn out that bad … I can probably only immigrate a couple more and that’d be really fucking tight for me financially.

Just assuming. I actually haven’t done any of the fact checking I usually do before I post on a topic that I am not already knowledgeable on. I don’t even know if the OP used a credible source.

Why would it not be true or difficult to believe? Egypt is a majority muslim country with widespread support for islamists. In that culture a women are nothing more than property.

Here is the alarabiya article…

Anyone got a non-alarabiya version? You do? Got a non-Huffington post version? Oh…how about a non-Chicago Tribune version? Uh huh. Bet you don’t have a non-International Business Times version. You do? Err…refuse to believe. Nah! nah! nah! nah! Can’t hear you!

Have a look at the different pictures of Cairo University graduates over the years at this link to see how Egyptian society has changed over the last 60 years:

Hey, who likes football? Egyptians like football…sort of. And the “white knights” - they like football too.
