Effects of Fat Burning Supplements?

Just a couple of questions I’ve always had about these supplements, but have never voiced:

(a) If you were to include them in a calorie-controlled diet, very roughly how many calories do you think they would cause you to burn off extra per day?
(b) By speeding up your metabolism with them, will this not result in your natural metabolism slowing down, or will it still be OK when you stop taking them?

Agreed, I’m sure most fat burners vary in strength etc. I was thinking about trying Myprotein’s thermopure for a bit, have no idea how this might compare to something like HOT-ROX, but there are issues getting that over here from the US.
