Eccentric Focused Push Press

Hey CT,
In your latest article on improving fast-twitch composition you mention eccentric overshoot. What are you thoughts on overhead pattern with push press concentric but a regular eccentric (like a military press vs. a controlled drop back to front rack position)? Do you ever use this in any of your programming?

That is something that I use very often with athletes that I train.

This overhead press video from Thib is also interesting. I have used this advice along with pressing from a floating rack at chin level/pressing from pins at chin level to great effect.

Starting the press from the top seems far more reasonable than the press 2.0, Olympic press, etc. that are in vogue amongst strengthlifting participants.
