Eating More On Training Days

Do most of you guys do this, or do you generally keep calories constant throughout the week? Are food and nutrients better utilized on the days we actually lift (thought I remembered reading something about that in an article here not too far back), or does it make little difference?

The only calories I cut out on non-work out days is the PWO Surge and (1) protein shake. That’s 700 calories less right there between the two.

Food intake is important on your off days for recovery. However, nutrients- especially carbohydrates- and protein are utilized more efficiently on the days we lift.
When I’m cutting I eat about 1-200 calories more on training days. When I’m not cutting, I am usually eating 3-500 more. If you’re working hard in the gym, you’ll need a few hundred extra calories for quick recovery - and more than a couple hundred for muscle growth.
