Eat Like a Gorilla

This thread is the epitome of the Internet.

In case any of you don’t know, the Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks.

Was he out there planting rows of broccoli and wheat

I guess it depends upon the definition of early man now doesn’t it

I would argue that early man ate a good deal of organ meat as well, and probably bone marrow

The human body only has the ability to manufacture 10 amino acids.

Animals do not have that limit.
ID- this is somewhat joking in wording, but serious question in the 2nd part.
are humans not animals? All animals besides humans?
Don’t open that can of worms, JF… unless you want this debate to spill over into animal rights bullshit.

lol

looked this up a long time ago. Pretty sure I made a thread here about it too.

anyways I’m about to sound dumb because I do not remember any of the correct terminology. It was a long time ago.

I read something about some sort of protein or hormone that both humans and gorillas have and it pretty much puts a genetic limit on how big we can get. Gorillas have more or less of this, I cannot remember which was better.

the word starts with an M maybe myosin or something i dunno.

I thought this thread was going to be about food porn or something

myostatin?

Humans have an essential need for 9 amino acids, to maintain and build our bodies.

Gorillas are herbivores, which means that their bodies can synthesize ALL amino acids, whereas humans have to eat animal flesh to cover their needs.

So in essence, the gorilla doesn’t give a crap about your MAG-10, because he pumps out the stuff by the pound, all from the truckload of veggies he eats per day.

You’re welcome

Gorillas are not entirely herbivorous. They eat bugs and such and some will even kill small furry creatures.

The fact of the matter is gorillas can do what they do because they have many more microbiota in their longer intestines with which to convert plant matter to the necessary nutrients. Their liver (not to mention muscle size) can also deal with higher levels of glucose and other substances that would be toxic to a human in higher doses.

just wanted to post this as I ran across it today:

peace out

I ran across that on ScienceDaily a while back.

Interesting read. I still want gorilla arms though.

Then forget eating like a gorilla. Try walking like one.

The question is…if we did in fact have the efficacy of a Gorillas digestive system would we in fact become gorillas? =0

It’s a retarded question in that the answer will have no positive effect on my strength. There are way more important things to worry about or ask than why gorillas are stronger than me. In essence, who gives a shit lol. If you want to learn about things like that, I would suggest a biology book vs T-Nation nutrition forum.

I don’t see why the OP got flamed. Genetics aside, it does beg the question where the necessary amino acids/calories come from.
