Is there anything different with a dumbell clean and press vs a regular clean and press with a barbell (other than the obvious one is with dumbell and the other a barbell)? Anything to do differently with form or technique or things to avoid?
Hi, jhat! My understanding is that if you have a choice of dumbbells or barbell, same exercise, that it’s just a different way of working/shocking/confusing the muscles. I believe you’ll have to use lower (total) weights if you use dumbbells, and you’ll work synergist muscles to a greater degree.
