Dumbbell Rows and Lats


when doing dumbbell rows i dont feel the work coming from the lats, i have weak lower trapezius and was woondering if this is the problem and why? i have recently just activated my lower trapezius and have been doing prone ys and can only do like 5 reps and my lower trapezius will be nackered and my arms will shake, do the lower trapezius need to be stronger then this to work with the lats?
