Dumb Squat Question, Please Don't Flame

Slowly breaking back into squats,(knee/low back rehab) warming up with the bar alone. Stupid question: How much does the bar weigh unloaded? this is so I will be able to properly calculate (for my journal)how much weight I’m using as I start adding plates…

45lb

If it’s an Olympic bar (which it more than likely is), it weighs 45lbs.

Obligatory “you’re dumb, how dare you even ask this question” post. Now everyone will hate you forever.

Consider yourself flamed! BADLY!

Not dumb, just ignorant…I no longer am, due to helpful responses, and am grateful for it…Nobody is perfect, Bubba…

With Rehab have you thought of using a 5’ bar? Hooking a cable with 2" chain attached. You can start working form & ballance with only 15 lbs, and 2oz per link. An olympic bar is 20 kilo, about 45lb. a Top squat attachment makes the squat safer but adds 5 kilo or about 11lb.
A safety squat bar is around 75lbs. Most Squat harnesses seem to incoporate a 5’ bar or an EZ curl. Work hard lift safe and slow.
