What the heck is a “drop set”? A recommended exercise for calf muscles said do three drop sets without further explanation. Please advise.
Hi There Bob. Drop sets are where you perform an exercise, of a given weight, until you reach concentric failure. Then you immediately “drop” (or reduce) the weight and perform another set until failure. There is no rest (or very little) between each set. You can do this until you reach complete failure. Since it’s pretty taxing, this method should be used sparingly (you can easily overtrain using this method too much). Hope that helps you.
