Do's and Dont's of Timed Sets

What exercises would benefit the most from timed sets, in the area of 40 seconds. Thib did the “Superman Sets” article but didn’t specify what exercises you should do and what exercises you shouldn’t do during long timed sets. I don’t want to assume that all exercises would be used in timed sets, like deads and its variables. Thib if you’re lurking around please chime in.

I don’t like exercises with a very long range of motion (deadlifts, squats, lunges, olympic lifts, etc.). Cable exercises are not that good either. However 1/2 deadlift are very effective.
