Donnerschweer: Getting Back At It

I haven’t ridden in two years. That’s what happens when your friends have kids :sob:

Sorry you had to sell one of your horses

I have 2 types of horses personal and schoolies. She was a school horse. I would cry if I had to sell Trouble or TK. They are special to me. It is part of business, I also use to by project and resale them.
With the new job and my leg I just can’t coach so much.

Life change maybe for the best, I may have time for a life

I try to look at everything as a life lesson. It’s easier for my mind to wrap around so I can process :hugs:

I used to volunteer at a horse rescue farm that rescued abused horses and if could, train them to be able to have handicapped kids ride them around a small fenced in area. It’s amazing how far a little love and they can come out of their shell and demand more and more attn.

I use to take off the track horses aka OTTB and retrain them for sports, I keep the easier one on the school. Most of them are young and just know to run, turn and stop no so much.

Sigh, I miss the smell of hay.

No workout today, just a lot of moving around.
First day at the new job.

Tomorrow, I will try go to the gym before work.

As I am still learning my new program, I decided to workout in the basement.
I think that my best strategy will be to shower at the gym and go straight to work.

This program really kick my ass and nothing is heavy just very slow tempo.
I need better footwear for work. My feet are sore in my converse.

My leg is taking the walking pretty well. Flat firm ground are no issue.

I have physio this morning, work all day, then coach one super cool kid for next week competition.

I will do some cardio at the physio and postpone gym until tomorrow night.
And still working inside is so easy on my rebuilt leg. And it is cool to save a lady feet by getting her to not go walking the Great Wall of China in Sketcher shoes.

I feel a sleep last night before I could make it to the gym.

So I went today after work.
First I made it through a full week of work. Hard flat floor and controlled temperature are great for my leg.

Workout
Assault bike 5 minutes with short sprints
power row, hammer grip OHP (3 x 8 reps)
Hammer curl, lying triceps extension (3 x 10 reps)
Incline curl, over head triceps extension (3 x 12 reps)
Seated calf raises, standing calf raises. (3 x 20 reps)

Tomorrow day off from work and gym

Morning gym before work. Still adjusting to the schedule and see if my knee can take it.

5 minutes assult bike
Squat (heel on plate) 3x8 / alternating lunges 3x12
Deadlift 3x10 / single leg curl 3x8
Crunch 3x20 / hip bridge 3x20

Half day through work my knee is ok. The squats with the plat under my heels is hard on some ligament or tendons. But getting better. I have to kick my ass and do my rehab work on none gym day.

Getting use to the new schedule. I am off monday and start late on wednesday, which make it easy to get to the gym before work.

My knee has no swelling this morning!

Workout, still very light weight (laughable) but it kick my ass!
5 minutes assault bike, getting a bit more speed and it is getting easier.
Incline chess press/Hammer grip chess press 3x10-12
Lat pull down wide grip/bent over row 3x10-12
Over head press/back shoulder fly 3x10-12

Next week if the swelling is still down I may try a bit more weight on the leg.
I still need to figure out lunch making. My lunch are very slim compare to other girls at work. They also match their lunch :scream: I think some of them eat, what I eat in one day, for lunch. But mine need a bit more, like 5 more bites.

I survive the horse show, but my right hip is sore from all the over leaning on that leg. Using my cane make me lean over but my left knee is ok!

Morning gym like late morning because I have the day off. Some weights are moving up but the numbers are still kind of sad. That slow and slower work is freaking hard and that knee but I can see the benefit in the long run.

Warm up 5 minutes on the assault bike.

Squat with heel on a 10lb plate 3 x 8, 12.5lb db it is getting better but I have to work so hard to stay centered on both feet :frowning: Alternating lunges body weight 3 x 14

Deadlift 3 x 10 (95- 115-135) that is feeling easy / single leg curls 3 x 8 20lb that is still super hard for my left leg

Ab Crunch 30 seconds/ hip bridge 30 seconds (42.5lb db)

Yesterday I went for a very short nature walk with my dog.
Well timed with my physio, I had a few stiff leg myscles so I got 3 needles (shin, calf and hamstring).

I hope to make to the gym after work.

Proof that I did make it to see some nature
