Donkey Calves

Tried 'em today for the very first time. It seems to be a forgotten exercise. Other than the weird looks you get at the gym why is this exercise so neglected? Does it have injuries linked to it (as discussed in the skullcrusher thread)? Or is it just not as effective as the other exercise options?

donkeys don’t have calves. cows do.

I love them me and my partner do them, yes arnold style plus with a dip belt on. Awesome for blowing the calves up

I just need to find a heavier trainning partner soon, my firend is only like 165 or something. I am pretty sure his weight wont even challenge me anymore the fourth or fifth time i do these(remember yesterday was my first time ever).

Since i dont have an xvest or weight belt, what is the best alternative for increasing poundage?

Should i make my partner hold plates?

my partner is like 220 and we use a weight belt with 90 lbs on it and sometimes he holds a 70 lb barbell over his back. Looks funny but it works awesome

I guess I’m lucky, my gym has a donkey calf machine w/ up to 400 pounds.
