Does It Take High T to Act High T?

I’m not quite sure how better of a way to explain this than the title says. Basically, does it take high testosterone to exhibit high testosterone characteristics? I’ll admit, ever since I began visiting the forums, I’d say my outlook and attitude has changed; Mostly into a super hard lifting, no excuses, hard work ethic, but honest individual. Not that I wasn’t good before, but I got a better glimpse into what makes a wuss guy and what makes a real guy.

That said, I’m just curious if T levels necessarily relate to how you act? My T levels aren’t super high (year ago i checked it at about 490ish), and i’d imagine a lot of people here don’t have sky rocketing levels. However, lots of people act it. So, I’m sure it’s stupid, but I’m just curious if it actually takes high t levels to indicate certain characteristics of a high t person?

my experience - supplementing on T boosters did make me more aggressive and horny, but overall my environment the last 4 years has shaped me into someone that will be patient with people but the aggressiveness will appear the second I feel threatened. My early environment was for the most part calm and my adult years have been violent, and sometimes I don’t know where this NEED to fight comes from - You learn alot from what you see because we are social creatures. Violence = Violent people no matter what your T levels are.

We had this interesting example from one of my classes. There were these two types of birds of the same species. The dominant males had speckling, the subordinate males did not. The speckled males actually did have higher testosterone.

So what did the researchers do? Juiced up some of the birds.

They took some of the subordinates and dyed them to resemble the dominant males, and others they gave testosterone to and dyed, and others still they just gave test to.

The birds that only looked the part ended up getting punked when challenged for dominance.

The birds that received test and looked the part (colored properly) were given all the respect of the dominant birds.

The birds that only got the test fought hard and earned positions but still ended up as second class birds.

Moral: You gotta look the part and be able to back it up.

Don’t pretend to be something you’re not ready to back up.

Everyone’s a speckled bird on the interwebz.

If you have to ask…

this

You ever seen someone and it’s just disgusting how they ooze with estrogen? How they look, talk, and act like whiney little bitches.

But anyways, I think it’s largely environment. If you’re always provided for and never feel threatened or anything like that, no sports too, you’re more likely to be a little bitch.

Why do people lie on the internet anyways ?

Its like lying about your accomplishments to a dog, sure the dog is there and it listens, but its a dog, it cant understand you anyways, and even if it did, its a dog, it eats its own vomit…do you really care what it thinks of you ?

Even if your a “Professional MMA Fighter/Bodybuilder” on the internet, your still a little bitch where it matters…so its simply wasting your own time.

i guess a better way for me to put it is, can high testosterone level people ever act feminine, and can low test people ever naturally act tough and aggressive, naturally?

It used to be worse (as far as lying on the internet). Everyone used to be over 260lbs with 6% body fat. Sometimes they would even post someone else’s pics as their own…something increasingly hard to do because with the growth of the internet, the chances of grabbing someone else’s picture and having no one else notice it ain’t you are growing smaller.

People are also easily intimidated by others if they are doing better than they are.

As far as the OP, actions and even mental state do not tell you about someone’s hormonal profile…however, there are many generalizations that have been made and I personally doubt most high T individuals will come across as feminine beta-type personalities.

Yes. There are “high testosterone” gay people. There are “mousy” guys who have high t. Behavior is largely due to environment and upbringing…meaning no matter how high you testosterone is, you can still be a whiny bitch if you were raised with little hardship or responsibility in life.

Look at the discussions we have had lately about how different people would apparently act if stared down in a bad neighborhood. Due to many of these guys never even being in situations where their life may be at risk DAILY, they actually think it is ok to act like Mr. Rogers in a situation like that. Meanwhile, the gayest street-smart princess knows how to NOT be a mark in situations like that.

Who you are is more than your hormones.

So you think Bonds and Manny should get into the Hall of Fame? Sweet.

Jadakiss said it best: “a man becomes a man from all the shit that he goes through”

Fair enough.

And I do agree that your entire mental outlook is not dependent on testosterone rates.

Certainly it helps, most guys overflowing with test arent going to act weak and bitchy, as their basic impulse is to simply say the first thing that comes to mind…

AND

Heres the kicker a large percentage of how you act is determined by how others see you and act around you.

If you have had high testosterone your entire life its unlikely your going to be a skinny little kid. You’ll have a high appetite and a large bone structure even if you never worked out, this leads to a decent amount of muscle and at-least a large frame no matter what.

This means you have likely been a larger guy your whole life, and have always been treated with respect. You come to expect to be able to act a little jerkish and get away with it…etc.

When on cycle I dont feel significantly different than off. And on cycle Im running at least a gram of test a week.

Sex drive skyrockets, but how you feel and act is about the same. Its not like you suddenly become a super confident superhero simply because you have high test. Your a little more likely to act before thinking than usual, but its not that noticeable.

And certainly my normal rates are not a gram a week, if the actual hormone’s immediate effect on brain chemistry had a SIGNIFICANT impact on your personality I would have noticed by now.

I’ve always been a bit bigger than most and an asshole. I know it. but I’m usually pretty good about keeping it in check. Then when I started taking test boosters supplements, the inner asshole came out and I found it more easy to release him. I’ve since gone through a few cycles and I don’t have that problem anymore. I guess my body self regulated.
