My sister in law deals with this. She’s a semi-pro triathlete and has Celiac’s disease. The discomfort from eating led to an eating disorder; once she was diagnosed and could eat more normally, she exercised to compensate. She was getting stress fractures and losing hair. She’s somewhat better now, and is carrying some muscle, but I will never understand people who run 20 miles for fun.
