Hello, I’m doing a sports nutrition course and I’m thinking on dissertation ideas. I was searching for studies on the effect of low carbohydrate diets on sprint performance. I was thinking of doing a study which compared sprint performance in a glycogen depleted and saturated muscle state.
The Hypothesis is that because glycogen holds water in the muscle and thus adds extra body weight does this hinder sprint performances.
I was wondering does anyone know any sprinters who train and race carbohydrate depleted or if anyone has seen any studies on this topic?
