Directory of Women's Logs

Roll Call!

I really like to follow women’s logs, although I’m not keeping an active log now. We’re pretty spread out among different forums. I recently found a couple of active logs in the Figure Athlete Logs section, and I know of several in the Over 35 Forum, and one contest prep log in the BBing Forum. There are probably a few women doing Indigo or V-Diet.

Maybe everyone who is here could post a link to your log?

Also, let us know some basics such as if your emphasis is Strength, BBing, OLY, Weight Loss - just the basics so we can find each other. Women who are new to this site, may have a hard time finding a network.

If you know of a women’s log in another section, please put up a link. They may not see this thread.

Thanks!

Puff

I think this is a great idea!! its hard to tell by just user names who the ladies are.

Thanks, Coyote. Effective communication can be tricky. Short of putting up a thread in every forum, I’m not sure how to make sure women see it. On a positive note, this thread has had over 200 views since I put it up, so there must be some interest.

I know everybody has been busy with Easter and kids on spring break. I’ll put up links to all the women’s logs I know of, with a brief summary, as soon as I have the time.

Also, if you are a woman who doesn’t currently log, but want to talk to other women who lift, please feel free to put up an introduction, along with something about what kind of lifting you do. Please list any areas of special interest or expertise - nutrition, mobility, rehab, metabolism, hormones, competition, so forth. That goes for anybody logging in this forum as well.

Hope everybody is enjoying the warmer weather!

I post at Powerful women under Sonysunshine. I wasn’t sure which forum would be best, over 35 or women?? I also love to read logs. This is a great idea!

Right now I lift mostly for health, but I love to break my personal bests. That’s really what drives me. I lifted for bodybuilding when in my early twenties, though I never managed to compete (in the military). I’d love to compete in powerlifting in the future, but some things about it seem overly “technical” to me. I just want to lift the weight up without putting on some special shirt or lifting in some odd way.

I work out in a small gym at the local Y. I only work out maybe three days a week but I lift as heavy as I can and I do pull ups at home whenever I’m not too sore. I don’t follow any particular program, just sort of intuitively choose my exercises.

I’m looking forward to reading everyone’s logs!

^ And that’s how it’s done, my friends. Thank you Sony!

I’ve been lifting for nearly 3 years now and I’m lifting BBing style these days. I train at a the local university gym, once I get my kids out the door in the morning. I usually follow a 4-way body part split, but I often do a whole body circuit once a week, when I lift with my husband. I try to lift 5 days per week. I’m interested in health and nutrition.

Outside the gym, I try to be as active as I can. I plank and stretch at home, and I’ve been riding bikes with my daughter nearly every afternoon. I rarely run these days, but I try to walk an hour everyday. And I discovered ballet for conditioning and ROM, so I’m hoping to take another class at the local college in the fall.

I’m not logging right now, but here’s a thread about leg training with progress pics and stats from not too long ago. http://tnation.T-Nation.com/free_online_forum/sports_body_training_performance_bodybuilding/emphasis_on_quad_sweep

Adding some color! That’s me on my bike.

I don’t have a log started yet, but plan to next week. I’ve been lurking for a couple months and love how supportive this community is. My husband is on this site and with his motivation I’m making the commitment to improve my health–which is mainly what I’m doing right now. My current goals are simply overall health, fitness, and weight loss. That and we have a 6 y/o girl, and I want to help her start early with a healthy lifestyle.

I am starting with 5-3-1 next week. It’s something I can do at home and is easy for me to know what to do since I’m a complete beginner to lifting. I won’t be throwing any major numbers around, but look to bettering myself every day.

I really enjoy reading everyone’s logs and look forward to the feedback I know I’ll get. Thanks for starting this post. I’ll link back once I get the log started.

Excellent! Looking forward to it. You will be amazed at how much progress you will make the first year.

Just updating here. I wanted to add any women’s logs that aren’t here in the Powerful Women forum.

This one might be of interest to a lot of you. A shout out to Nez. She’s already been lifting for a year and has lost 20 pounds, and now Jake is helping her dial in diet and training to get her super lean. This will be lots of fun to follow over the next few weeks.

Also, for people who haven’t been following Chelsey over in the Figure Athlete Logs, she’s been quietly toiling away over there, coming up on her competition this next week I believe. Newbie to lifting and has had Shelby Starnes helping her with diet. She’s doing great!

I know there are a few women in V-Diet, but I haven’t had the time to find links. Please feel free to post over here.

And at one point there was a cute little Asian chick in the Over 35 Forum who was lethal with a kettle bell. I can’t seem to find her log, so maybe she isn’t active right now. If anybody has the link, please post it up.

One last thing! I saw that On My Own is back, but no longer On her Own. Congratulations! We all love a good comeback story.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Puff

Hi Puff, sorry for dropping an off-topic comment into your post (I tried PMing, but my impression is that the PM system here is hit-or-miss), but I wanted to say thanks for the Friend request (and I hope the reciprocation went through). I always enjoy your comments. Take care.

No problem, to talk to me here. Yep, you’ve been friended. I like keeping up with some of the people who are close in age to me and are still going strong, or who have more experience. You’ve been nice to chime in and help people. Your note to Up about shoulder training a few weeks ago has helped me, and you sometimes give some interesting medical insights, so I wanted to be able to find ya.

The PM system is out of commission as I understand it. I guess I should put up a log again so I can talk to people, but I’m not doing anything special these days to talk much about. I left you a note in Up’s log this morning. Classy decor, maybe not my forte.

Just saw your note on Up’s log. Re Earth Wind and Fire–that’s my jam, as the kids say. I have fond memories of slow-dancing to EWF at summer-camp dances in the 1970s. It’d be sweet to have one of their posters in the exam room, with their music playing softly in the background.

Here’s my favorite EWF song–one of the best songs to come out of the 70s, IMHO:

And thank you for referring to my age as “close” to yours. ;^)

I think this is an awesome idea. Mahalo for all ready including my log. I lift for fat loss, over all health and for strength. Currently gearing up for my 2nd Power Lifting competition. I am 7-weeks out. I have been working with CT for the past 8 weeks using his new Layering System which he tweaked for my Power Lifting (not sure if its one word or two-seen it both ways).

Nutrition wise I am following a modified version of the V-Diet that Chris mentioned in the Training Livespill.

EyeDentist - Thanks for that. My hometown had more of a Nashville influence than Motown. Back when we were fairly limited by what was playing on the two radio stations we could get good reception for! Some of the music from our youth can evoke such nostalgia. I had an 8-Track of Neil Diamond’s greatest hits that I must have listened to a million times.

HawaiiTunya - Hey! Nice to see you over here. I’ve lurked your log a few times. Best of luck on your power lifting comp! That’s fantastic. I haven’t seen Lil’Power or Oro around for awhile. I’m sure they’d be full of tips. I keep up with them a bit on facebook, and Lil’Power is just amazingly strong. Keep at it, lady! Thanks for fleshing out your information here. Please feel free to stop by anytime, or add anybody else. I know this isn’t a complete list.

Hawaii - I just wanted to let you know that your log is really inspiring. I just saw the two year comparison pics you put up at the end of April. Just wow! I rarely come to that part of the site, and now I feel sad that I’ve missed out on all the excitement. You must feel so proud. And to have had so many setbacks in terms of overcoming serious injuries, not to mention the problems with hormones and metabolism. Your attitude is just really wonderful. Made my day! I’m so happy to see that you are teaching and trying to help others along the path. I’m sure it feeds your spirit. See ya around the forums!

Best to you,
Puff
