DIM Effects

Read this on a site re: the effects of DIM:

“Diindolylmethane might act like estrogen in the body, but there is evidence that under certain circumstances it might also block estrogen effects.”

This makes it seem like a coin flip as to whether you get the estrogen-mitigating action. Any thoughts as to the possibility it doesn’t provide the desired effect or why?

Thanks for any input.

the thing is that there are several types of estrogen. DIM can act as an estrogen, however it will act as a much weaker form then some of the xeno-estrogens that are in most of our bodies. Because the DIM attaches to an estrogen receptor site it can have some weak estrogen like effects, but at the same time it will block that site from being activated by a stronger estrogen, so the over all effect should be a decrease in estrogen like effects in the body.
