Should you lower your sets per workout when restricting calories?
Keep poundages up to retain strength and LBM but limit volume (sets,reps) to avoid overtraining or hamper recovery. Your recovery ability may be compromised on calorie restriction so take that into account when determining volume.
Generally speaking, it’s easier to overtrain when on low cals, so lowering volume may help.
