Diet Help Please - Bulking

Hey fellas

I have a few questions to ask yal about my bulking diet that ihave going on. I currently weigh about 187lb and have about 9ish perfecnt body fat. I have an extreamly hard time gaining weight so i have been eating a TON of “good” foods. I just wanted to go voer what i eat suring the day and see if you think its enough/to much

9:30 Wake up And eat a huge bowl of either Oatmeal with splenda or cerial with a protien shake.

10:30 a lil bit of turky or protien shake

1:20 I eat a huge lunch cause i have a meal plan at my cafateria.
-10 egg whites 2 yellows
-Big turkey sandwhich with a ton of turky
-Large bowl of pasta with red sauce and parmision cheese. With this i eat 2 hamburger patties mixed in with it. and a banana

i lift at 3

430: Surge recovery drink with some Biotest creatine and a scoop of protien

630 dinner time!
usually very similar to lunch
8 egg whites
Lots of pasta
maybe a hamburger pattie
(sometimes thisvarries with other meats chicken/ham/yat yata yaa)
And some form of a green veggy

10 ill have some yogurt or cottage cheese

12: I make a shake using
1/4 a jar of natural penut butter, 1 percent milk, oatmeal, and 40 grams of protien powder. And i drink this as im going in bed.

I have been doing this diet for almost 5 months (iv been doing the penut butter thing for close to a year) and even without any cardio i have only gone up a few percent bodyfat. from 6 to about 8 while gainging a good bit of weight.

BUT id like yall to look over this and see if its alright. I am currently using the Superhero workout from this site as well. Thanks for any advice!

food choices look pretty solid. I wouldn’t say your eating HUGE!!! just a rough estimate, i’d say 3500-4000 a nice whack not HUGE.

is it working? are you making progress? you say so so it should be good up it as you need to gain weight

Phill

More fruits and veggies…get some variety in there.

Hmm you truly think that im only around 3500-4000. I mean that shake before i go to bed is at least 1000. and yes ima try to get more veggies in there… and i try to eat alot of banana’ thanks for the responces, keep em coming.

I echo the “NOT huge” idea. It may seem like a lot of food, but it really isn’t.

I saw the phrase “egg whites” a couple times. That phrase does not belong in a bulking diet. That is strictly for Jenny Craig. If you are bulking eat the entire damn egg.

I also noticed your fats seemed low. The only appreciable amount of fat (depending on how lean your meats are at lunch and dinner) was the peanut butter at bedtime. Add in some olive oil here and there or more nuts (e.g. almonds).

I appreciate your desire to keep your food choices clean, but in your case (given you been eating this way for a while and not gaining much) it may be ok to venture out to some not so clean foods to help up your calories.

The veggies comment is just for general health reasons, not to help you gain weight.

So the high amount of B vitamins in spinach won’t give him more energy to lift harder? Or the vitamin E in avacados won’t help with vasodilation of the capillaries so nutrients won’t reach his exhausted muscles easier? Or fiber to help him slow digestion and absorb all his macronutrients?

Yes, I did mention that for health reasons. But there are some vitamins and minerals that never truly see the inside of a multi-vitamin bottle.

yes I do

at least a few of those mealas are only a couple hundred k/cals, the breakfast. thats 400 or so be very liberal and say the two big meals and shake are 1000 and your sitting near 3500-4000.

juts guesstimating by what you gave us but yes many ppl think they are eating a TON anmd well really arent. Not that 4000 is a little but not HUGE!!!

You’re doing ok but you can do a lot better…drink about 2 servings of Surge peri-workout…start sipping at the beginning, and keep drinking during the workout…whatever’s left at the end slam it…

Then, wait maybe 15-20 minutes and start eating…If possible, take the next 1.5-2 hours and don’t stop eating…ideally this is high GI carbs and lean protein, but eat cheeseburgers if you have to. Just shift A TON of calories into this window. Doing this has helped me immeasurably.

Good luck.

Egg whites?

a ‘lil’ bit of turkey??

eat the whole fucker!!

I appreaciate tll the responses. Ill explain the egg whites. My mother has a disease of the blood dealing with white blood cells (1.3million where as the normal person should have 300k. and my family has high cholesteral. So while im perfectly fine, i try to shy away from the yellows (i still eat like 2) but not alot of them… and they are already pealed and everything at the cafateria, so i was thinking… free protien  Kep the replies coming im learning alot and greatly apprecaite it.

Do you just not have the appetite to eat more? Or is it a time restraint?

Time restraint (classes) and money restraint…

I take it this comment was geared at me. The effects you list can be achieved from lots of different foods, not just veggies.

When will people finally come to grips with the lack of connection between dietary cholesterol and blood cholesterol?

Have you ever had your cholesterol tested? Had a white cell count taken? How do you know this is even something you need to worry about for yourself?

Yes my cholesteral was high but after changing my diet it came down. Also the reason why i know i need to worry about it is my dad is 55 and had 2 heart attacks and a quintuple bipass. Extreamly active guy… Grandfather died from a heart attack… The lineage isnt looking so great. So im taking my chances and eating right. About the white blood cell. it actually is hereditary as well. But i thank all of yall who are giving helpful responces!

Ok good info. You obviously have been keepting track instead of just worrying.

Either way it is still funny for someone bulking to be eating egg whites. Expect to always get similar comments. As long as you’re getting your overall calories and macros in you’ll do fine.

actually no, dont eat the entire egg, for every 3 egg whites have a full egg. Just 2 full eggs have the amount of cholesterol that people consume in a day!

Also-
Start taking FISH oil capsules
Flaxseed Oil (Make sure you control flax oil well)

You should drink Milk, you have low body fat so drink a lot a lot A LOT of milk
Drink it during your snacks, lunchtime etc.

The cholesterol in eggs is not bad for you. In fact, some people agree that cholesterol is pretty meaningless, it’s actually excess saturated and hydrogenated fats that clogs arteries.

Thanks fellas
ALso have yall ever heard of endurox. Its a post recovery shake and i need something to tide me over until i get my funds back up (i have a gift certificate to gnc…)

And another thing, Are u sure egg centers are not bad… I mean… it cant be “good” i know some of the fats in it are good for you but… the cholesteral… Is it true dietary cholesteral is different from … non dietary (?) Thanks as always… i love this site!

I eat 12-15 whole a eggs every day and my cardio vascular is fine. Dietary cholesterol is only dangerous if a processed diet has damaged your arteries already. Also dietary fat and cholesterol, meaning what goes in your mouth, is finally being shown to not be the poison we’ve been led to believe. Even saturated, gooey white animal glycerol in anything like sane amounts.
