DexterMorgan's log - TRT, Lifting, Mental Health, Vaginal Attainment

I’ve wanted to do a log before but always forget or got sidetracked. I copy pasted my “about me” post in the TRT Credentials Sticky and will add to it over time.

Formal education: Bachelors degree in Business/ Marketing minor
Medical professional?: No. Work in medical device sales (Orthopedic surgery). One part of my job is to oversee surgery and basically keep surgeons from fucking up. The other part is building a relationship with docs/surgeons. Through my job I’ve developed personal relationships with many of the top docs in NYC including Endos & fertility specialists.

Tell us something about yourself and your knowledge level: I grew up in the poorest County in Mississippi and moved to the richest zip code in NYC having never been there. Became a top real estate agent at Corcoran and eventually did medical device sales on the side where I was in charge of all of Brooklyn, NY. After 10 years in NYC I woke up one day and restarted life in Louisiana to be closer to family and because I love the South.
My knowledge is based solely on my own experience and figuring out through trial and error what works for me. I read as much as possible on many forums before joining T-nation. I’ve found T-nation to be the only resource I use these days. I have a very addictive personality and when I get into something I go all in.

TRT journey
About 5 years ago I started having major issues with energy, weight gain, libido, etc. I eventually found out I had anemia which is one reason I was put on TRT. I became completely obsessed with figuring out how to get back to feeling normal.

I started at 220mg once a week with 1mg anastrozole.
• had major issues from the start
• crashed estrogen twice
• always felt worse than before TRT

I eventually stopped the AI and dropped to 100mg/week
• I increased the dosage by 20mg every 2-3 months
• I started playing with increased injection frequency (twice/week, EOD, daily)
• tried sub-q & IM
• supplementing vitamins, minerals, etc

I worked up to 200mg/week doing daily shots with no AI or HCG. It’s where I feel optimal.
• I found that using 185mg for two weeks then going to 200mg for two weeks & repeat keeps my libido higher than normal

Normal before starting to have issues. 167lbs (5-6 years ago)

Pre TRT after having issues for 2 years. 205 lbs (2-3 years after previous pic, right before starting TRT)

Post TRT 178lbs (what I looked like about 1 year after TRT)

Post TRT (Jan 2020) (2-3 years after starting TRT) 187lbs
-for the past 6ish months I’ve been drinking too much & diet has been not great so gained considerable body fat

Post TRT (Taken 2/20/20) 187lbs

Post Covid (Taken 6/10/20) 164 lbs
(post #63)
-not worked out for 3 months

So here’s the Tea… This was me in February at 187 lbs. I had gained a decent amount of muscle (for me). I don’t take weight lifting too seriously. I do it mostly for the mental benefits and to aid in the procurement of the elusive Vagina.

Then (for the sake of this post not coming back on me in the future) let’s say I got sick from a mystery illness which I got early on and lost about 10 lbs from (178 lbs). During that time the gyms closed so I was no longer able to work out. Without even realizing it until later I started eating about half of what I was before. I usually ate two meals a day (4pm & 10pm) that consisted of 2-3lbs (total for the day) of smoked pork butt (pork shoulder) and 1.5 potatoes worth of mashed potatoes. I ate that for every meal every day and yes I enjoyed it each time. I started noticing weight loss and then realized I was only eating once a day (around 1lb pork & 3/4 of a potato’s worth of mash potatoes).

So since February I have lost a total of 17 lbs from getting sick, not working out and eating half of what I normally ate. Here’s what I look like today.

Honestly I don’t hate it nor do I love it. Once the gyms open up I’ll be back to where I was in no time. The timing has been pretty good because I’m definitely leaner than I was and since it’s beach season that’s a good thing. There’s nothing that makes me feel more self conscious than having love handles on the beach.

I feel absolutely amazing considering.

What? Huh? That’s impossible.

I don’t know why, but this has me laughing pretty hard. Although my wife wasn’t when I read this to her. She wanted to know if you could have just said “to get girls”?

Interesting, back in my hard core days, it seemed like generally women were not into muscles, to the point of it being a turn off. Though, those that were, really were and there were enough of them. I don’t know, maybe I’m wrong, but it seems that is very different these days.

Vaginal Attainment

In for the skanks

Vaginal attainment probably cracks me up more than it should. Anyway, following along, and thanks again for your advice in helping me get started!

I literally do nothing but Athleanx videos from YouTube. I’ve been doing the same routine since September the “Athleanx perfect ____ routine” (legs, chest, bicep, etc). I definitely do it when I’m doing it but I don’t know shit about lifting weights except “do what Mr X says & do more than yesterday”.

Whatever you are doing, it is certainly working. Great results!

I heard that if your E2 gets high enough, you’ll get bewbies, and you may even procure a vagina.

Dude I seriously think you look even better than you did before the sickness. I would go on a slow steady bulk from now on because you have a great lean base.

And let’s hope that mysterious illness was not STD related lol.

Subscribing to this thread as I have a feeling it’s going to turn into a fun one.

You take any other supplements?

Hi Dexter

How effective is Melatonin supposed to be? And how long before bed do you take it?

I bought 2.5mg melatonin and still I’ve been struggling to get to sleep and I’ve been taking 2x 2.5mg after the first 2.5mg doesn’t work

I take 400mg Magnesium Glycinate every night, sublingual 1000mcg Methylcobalamin (methyl B12), but that’s really it besides 200mg/week TRT.

Now I’ll be getting on the big boy train at some point in the future but that’ll be once gyms open here, I’ve got a new steady routine and the economy is a bit more stable.

I actually starting taking the sublinqual b12 in the am and for the whole duration of 2 weeks had terrible sleeping. No amount of melatonin would help.
Stopped b12 sleep much better.

Strange. But I tend to take a while to metabolize things.

It’s very effective for me but after a while the body builds up a tolerance. I cycle it because there comes a point where you can’t tell if it’s working. Every couple months on then a month or two off.

Magnesium glycinate 400-600mg
Melatonin 2.5mg
Tryptophan 500-1000mg (on occasions that it’s needed)

This is what I’m thinking as well. I do like being much leaner better than having anything that resembles love handles. Any muscle I build from now on won’t be at the expense of major bf increase. I just need to be more careful with diet basically or at least have a better understanding of what I can and can’t do diet-wise.

I’ve been taking injectable B12, do you think that’s why the melatonin isn’t working?

Maybe I need more magnesium to help the melatonin work?

Who knows. Stop the injections for a while and see

Diet wise I think you shouldn’t overcomplicate it. Eat 0.8 to 1.2 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight, at least 80 grams of fat (I prefer to go over 100g) and fill the rest with carbs. I eye my portions and never weigh them. I used to be obsessed with counting every calorie and while it was beneficial body composition wise it started fucking with my mind.

Also I think you need some diversity in your food. Slow cooked pork and potatoes for every meal might give you a good composition because the calories are right for your weight but health wise it can’t be good. You need to think about micros as well. Eat more veggies, greens and also to forget about the good fats like olive oil, avocados and fatty fish. You don’t need to cook complicated things. Simple but effective meals.

Some examples to get you inspired:

He seems to be doing just fine eating this way. And avocados are disgusting. Like eating a green turd.
