T Nation

Dental School

Any dentists or current d-school students here on T-Nation?

I'm about to start at UConn and am looking for any/all pointers to make sure that I do well and survive the rigors so that I can get into the residency of my choice.

I've observed at several general dentists, endodontists, periodontists, and oral surgeons and still think that OMF (and its 6 year residency) is what I'm leaning towards.

I've got a membership at a solid and not-too-crowded gym with tons of plates for $20 a month and a 1BR apartment and I think I'm ready as I'll ever be.

Let me know anything that I should do, remember to look for etc.

Thanks!

My sister is in it now going into her third yr. Congrats on getting in. Learn to study, lots. Every time I see my sister at home she brings some kind of study material with her, obviously. She said second year is by far the hardest. Third year is a lot of clinicals and lab work from what I’ve heard. You can still have a life, but you have to manage your time very effectively. You probably know most of this already, but my $ .02
