Should you use the same volume of 8-12 sets for the lower body max effort day as you do for the upper body day?

For both ME days, you’re going to do at least 5-7 sets of progressively heavier weights for the recommended reps until you get to your remaining sets where you try to lift the most possible for 3-5 reps.
So your workout may look like this:
Front Squats (ME exercise)

95 x 5
115 x 5
135 x 5
155 x 5
175 x 5
195 x 5
205 x 5
215 x 5 (max weight)
