Deadlifts Question?

Does anyone else find that going heavy on the leg press before dead lifting helps increase the weight?

And if so, since it works for me can someone explain it to me?

My guess would be post activation potentiation.

Since deadlifts seem to be a lift that needs to be done explosively (“weights aren’t light or heavy, they’re fast or slow”), that PAP theory makes sense to me, even though it usually applies to jumps and other traditional explosive movements. The quad activation might help you break the floor, too, which is where a lot of guys are weakest. Or maybe leg presses are just magic. I have no idea.

Since it seems to work, I am just trying to modify it so I do it optimally.

Thank you very much, the article is very interesting and sounds like what is happening but I have no experience in fitness, just physics!
