Alright everybody, my gym has these small 20 kilo plates. So far I’ve managed to deadlift with them putting the bar on 2 10kg plates but now since I’m doing Rippetoe’s Starting Strength, I must do deadlift sets of 5 and that’s plain impossible on these plates. So the question is: Should I go that extra one or two inches down or master the technique of plate deadlifting?
if you are going to compete, i would say to make the bar get to the same height as if it had 45cm discs. now if you are not, a couple of inches isnt that hugr of a deal
deadlifting using shorter plates will make you extremely strong off of the ground
