Deadlifting Routine Question

For a while I’ve been doing deadlifts with a routine of 7-8 sets and one repetition at very heavy weight. I’m wondering if this lifting scheme is enough to facillitate strength growth and hypertrophy. I’ve been making okay progress, but I’m wondering if this is optimal. Every other lift I generally do an 8x3 scheme of 2-3 compound lifts except for my back exercises in which I do that deadlift scheme along with 5x3 low rows and 8x3 Shrugs all at heavy weight.
