Deadlifting Neck/Trap Injury

When I was last deadlifting I heard 3 small snaps like when you break some string around the base of my neck and trap on the right side. I don’t have pain when relaxed, but if I move my right arm across my body around chest height it begins to hurt. I am going to train my shoulders today and I hope I won’t be impeded too much, but I am slightly worried as I have never done anything like this before. Also, when I tense my traps, the right side doesn’t respond as well as the left until I focus more.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Did I just pull a muscle? Should I rest or power through it?

Thanks in advance

This has happened to me before and I strained a few small neck muscles. It happened when I was doing heavy deadlifts and I turned my head a little bit.
Just stay away from doing any trap exercises for about a week and give it time to heal until it’s better.
