Deadlift injury -- herniated disc?

I was going for a ME deadlift this morning and the bar stalled about knee height, I fought it for a while, and had to drop it when I felt a sharp pain in my back. It’s not the worst lower back pain I’ve ever had but I’m nervous because an hour or two later I began feeling a numb/tingling sensation on the outside of my left quad.

About a year and a half ago I herniated my L5/S1 squatting and went through around 2 months of really bad sciatica pain on the right side, so now I’m extra nervious about any sort of neuropathy following a back injury.

Am I right to suspect that I’ve herniated another disc? I assume this one’s higher up – does anyone know which vertebra innervates the quad muscles? Anybody experience the same thing?

depends on which portion of the quad, prob L2 or l3

on the outside, about midway up

Id go with L2-L3 disc

yeah…I don’t know anyone that has eyes as good as an MRI. Go see a doc before it gets worse. If it is in fact a herniated disc the doc can put you on a short steroid treatment and you’ll be good to go!
