Golden Boy Promotions was recently in Portland (Thursday). It was a “Thursday Night Fight” evening in the Rose Garden. Needless to say, I missed it. However, Oscar de la Hoya made the following announcement that evening:
"WBC/WBA super welter champion Oscar de la Hoya will invite Fernando Vargas, Winky Wright, Javier Castillejo, Daniel Santos, Shane Mosley and Vernon Forrest to fight in a tournament with the winner to face him in a mega-million dollar fight. The Golden Boy, who told Fightnews on Thursday that his next fight will likely be in September, is also still planning a dinner with former nemesis Felix Trinidad, and will try to persuade Trinidad to return for a rematch. "
If this can be done? Pretty damn cool.
