Hi All, I never thought I would get old but it snuck up on me-45 next Saturday. I've been using T-Nation for training advice and ideas for several years but haven't really gotten involved in the forums.
Over the past couple of months I have been reading some of the logs in this forum including Sen, Led, Bulldog, Cav and others and it seems like a very easy going, funny and suportive forum. Since I recently switched from IBB training to 5x3x1 now seems like a good time to post my training log in here.
Some More info on me.
I'm 5'9" and weigh 205 lbs. been training since I was 17 but have never competed. Have put together my own basement gym (commercial gyms aren't for my schedule or more importantly my patience).
Decent upper body strength and not so great lower body strength especially since hernia surgery just short of 5 years ago.
One week into first 5x3x1 4-days per week cycle based on the following 1-rep maxes; 225 shoulder press, 405 deadlift, 405 squat and 375 bench. Also doing some higher rep bodybuilding type assistance work on each lifting day. I will also be doing (at least trying to do) some cardio on at least one of the off days each week.
