Dan's John's Format?

In his article the Best Exercises

I liked how DJ laid out the workout in a format. I actually the liked the one he had too.

However, I noticed Dan had it laid out that one would do a squat OR deadlift variation in a workout.

What’s the reasoning? One take effort away from the other? Just the way he laid it out?

I don’t want to come off as over analyzing it, I’m just curious if there was a specific reason for that or not.

Double check your links…you used the link to “The ‘Best’ Exercises” twice, so I’m not sure which article you’re talking about in the second example.

And yet, it seems like you are. No worries, man. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from Dan John (one thing?!?), it’s to not get too hung up on the details. Keep things simple, but not easy.

Oops, my bad - I had it there and moved it and forgot to take out the original.

I know I may be overanalzying, but bottomline I’m going to anyway. If things turn out bad I’ll reevaluate; it was just something that caught my eye.

Ah now I know why.

After a heavy set of squats even going light on the deads seemed futile.
