Dan John Makes Me Throw Up

… but I love him for it.

I totally just woke up on the shower floor, water pounding my face, in my own vomit… I suspect it was just too much hard work and too much ephedrine and caffeine.

We are a weird breed.

careful dude wtf did you do

i’m all for toughin’ it out but its hard to tough shit out when you’re dead.

…what?

So what exactly did you do?

Sounds like some heavy Tabata’s to me. Whenever I do some kind of weightlifting (not the sport, just lifting weight) without rest or very short rest periods I get very very tired and feel very very ill. Afterwards I get a burning fever-like metabolism

thats not a good thing… might want to google it

props on hard work

This happened to me once, I was in this crowded room and I must have passed out because the next thing I knew I was in a pool of blood… Everyone else in the room was dead.

Now that’s hard work.

Do you work out with Chuck Norris?

Yeah, I think it was because I was really feelin’ really good and hit the weights pretty hard… tried to lower my rest periods a bit.

Obviously, it traumatized my body enough to make me vomit… which was not cool… but I did feel good about my workout after. Definitely not something I would not enjoy doing too much.

Oh yeah… no tabatas… I know I’ll puke then.

Just overheads, front-squats, snatches, cleans… all the fun stuff.

You passed out in the shower? Take care of yourself. If you break a limb falling over, you can’t make yourself work hard enough to puke again probably…

Yeah dude… but I just successfully had a shower without puking. Although, while taking a squirt my body definitely started shaking like crazy… lol

Today was deadstop squats, one-arm dumbbell snatches, push-ups, snatch-grip deadlifts… and a lot of snow shoveling. Gotta love Canada.

I just have an inner-fire lately… I introduced by buddy to T-Nation about three years ago… he went away to university and every summer he comes back he’s a little bigger and a little stronger… he deserves full props for going from FFB to a monster…

while I’m still stuck in the FFB stage… not because I’m not educated, but because I’ve been lazy and un-dedicated the past 3 years. We rock the sandbags in the summer for GPP… and I used to be able to keep up with him… now he’s running circles around me, on top of deadlifting huge weight. :frowning:

Furthermore, when I attending college this previous semester, I worked with a bunch of jocks… and one day, one of them said to me…

“Hey, Monk has ‘man-arms’… no wait, no he doesn’t… laugh

You know what, fuck that shit… pisses me off…I may not have big arms or care to have big arms… but I’m going to fucking show up that guy. I may not have bigger arms than him, but I’m going to bust my ass to be stronger than that balding fuck.

Sorry, this is a bit of a rant but I’m taking this serious this time.

If you can’t hold down what’s in your stomach or you’re passing out, chances are you’re setting yourself back more than anything.

Yeah, I read through Dan John’s free book and refined by training a little bit.

Focusing more on form than intensity… not feeling sick anymore.

Maybe I’ll upload some pictures of the equipment and space I’m using… I’m sure everyone will get a good laugh at how minimal I am right now.
