jjuke, I have yet to make the switch to subq, but if it’s any consolation to you, I hit veins all of the time. I just continue poking until I get through them (involuntary muscle contraction and all). I just aspirate a bit on the plunger to make sure I’m not “in.” I am using 25g 1" pins, and I make sure it is all the way into my quad. I would rather do that than re-stick myself.
75% of my sticks include blood. As soon as I pull the pin out of my quad, I place my other index finger, immediately, over the hole to stop the flow of blood/T.
