Cube Method and Strongman

It’s another week and another week with the Cube Method. For this week it’s the max deadlift day in the Cube/ +Ian Darr method. There was some finagling that I had to do to make it work this week. It called for reverse band deadlifts. However unfortunately I don’t have bands that I can use so I decided to do rack pulls instead of the reverse bands. It worked out well I think. But I did go ahead and bought Iron Woody bands.

I also went beltless for as long as I felt comfortable and then put my belt on so that I didn’t go and injure my back. Deadlifting makes me nervous, especially when going heavy, about hurting my back again. But I have started taking Athlete’s Joint Restore (http://www.athleticx.net/products/athletes-joint-restore) to help with my smashed L5-S1 disc. So far I am pleased with the product. Ok enough with that, on to the numbers!

I was very satisfied with 505# but that’s just the start. I just have to keep on grinding to get to that 600# deadlift goal. Had a solid post workout meal of steak, sweet potato, spinach, avocado, and milk. Gotta feed those muscles! Alright I have to get back to studying for my pharmacology exam that’s tomorrow…wish me luck!
