There’s no way someone can squat anything substantial without incorporating calves. Not ‘feeling’ something does not mean they are not being used. My triceps are generally not ‘sore’ after chest day.

As a stabiliser yeah, but I wouldn’t say enough to merit necessitating training them separately from the rest of the leg.
