Creatine & Low Carb...How Too?

I am trying to lose weight and save my muscle at the same time, so I am on the Atkins, and using Christian Trib’s
Destroying Fat: War Room Strategies to Maximize Fat Loss
http://www.T-Nation.com/readTopic.do?id=1499282

as my exercise routine.

So since I am on Atkins, how am I supposed to take creatine and BCAAs without drinking it with a sugary liquid?

The one time it would be okay and optimal to have an insulin spike stimulated by carbs/sugars would be post workout.

This would only be on the days you lifted post workout only. Hell, the BCAA’s can be considered an insulinogenic (insulin spiking) substance. Don’t be too concrete with the Atkins thinking on this.

I’m doing something similar, though I’m not following the Atkins thing…

I’ve gone pretty low carb for the past couple weeks, oats with breakfast first thing in the AM, and something high GI after workout on training days (those are my only carbs, i’m coming in at less than 110g per day.

I follow Thibs lead on the creatine and BCAA’s (find it in his supplement thread).

5g of BCAA’s
5g Creatine, and
5g glutamine (helps maintain muscle glycogen during low carb eating)

all three 4-5x per day. I feel pretty good on that. Workouts have been strong, nothing has changed except my diet. I’m also following Thib’s Destroying fat program (started sunday).

Train hard. I haven’t sprinted like that in a while, feels good.

*Sidenote: Nike Free’s (5.0) are the most comfortable training shoe I’ve ever had, found them on sunday for $40 at a discount store (Gabriel brothers).

thanks
