Creatine + Fat Loss Diet = ?

Yes, what effects (positive or negative) will creatine have on a fat loss (any fat loss) diet?

I’ve heard two sides:

  1. It hinders fat loss
  2. It helps preserve your LBM while losing body fat.

Anyone clear this up for me? Deciding whether to start cycling creatine while dieting to lower my bodyfat%.


It is great ALL the time IMO.

Most people stop it during cutting do to being able to see the scale weight drop fast. They lose the intra muscular water stores from the creatine. Scal;e weight is over rated.

I say it is even better during times of fat loss you need that extra boost while on a hypocaloric diet to help keep gym performance up.
