Chavez says U.S. may have orchestrated 9/11
?Those towers could have been dynamited,? says Venezuela?s president

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said Tuesday that it?s plausible that the U.S. government was involved in the Sept. 11 attacks.

Chavez did not specifically accuse the U.S. government of having a hand in the Sept. 11 attacks, but rather suggested that theories of U.S. involvement bear examination.

The Venezuelan leader, an outspoken critic of U.S. President George W. Bush, was reacting to a television report investigating a theory the Twin Towers were brought down with explosives after hijacked airplanes crashed into them in 2001.

?The hypothesis is not absurd … that those towers could have been dynamited,? Chavez said in a speech to supporters. ?A building never collapses like that, unless it?s with an implosion.?

?The hypothesis that is gaining strength … is that it was the same U.S. imperial power that planned and carried out this terrible terrorist attack or act against its own people and against citizens of all over the world,? Chavez said. ?Why? To justify the aggressions that immediately were unleashed on Afghanistan, on Iraq.?

Chavez has said the U.S. launched those wars to ensure its political and economic power.

The U.S. government says al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden masterminded the attacks.

holy shit. this made the papers?

i think i just mentioned something about liberal dipshits. this helps prove the point.

please continue to quote hugo chavez, people. it’ll help the republicans in november.

realizing that liberals are crazy usually helps people vote the other way when they are alone in that booth.

keep 'em coming, morons.

Keep aligning yourself with this filth.

ya know… posting an article about something does not mean “aligning” youself with what the subject of the article is. It’s just bringing it up for discussion.

no worries man, these neocons are brainwashed very well.

Wow, the tin foil hat crowd must be excited that Castro’s best friend agree with them.

This is just idiotic.

Hugo is Kim Jong-Il’s half-witted cousin.

But they are looked up to by the kool-aid sipping Birchenstock brigade.

That’s GOT to tell you something about the collective IQ of the Hate America First crowd.

Perhaps Hugo and Fidel both remember the Maine.

There were some pretty kooky theories floating around back then, too.

The United States was quick to blame Spanish terrorists for bombing our warship, and to declare war on Spain, with the ardent support of the 19th century equivalent of Fox News, the New York World and the New York Journal.

We won, of course, and out of the deal we got the Philippines, Guam, Puerto Rico and meddling rights in Cuba. Even better, Teddy Roosevelt, the rough-riding hero of San Juan Hill, became president. So all’s well that ends well.

But they never did find out for sure why that goldurned ship blew up. Maybe a mine, maybe a coal fire. Maybe neither. Nobody knows.

Certainly nobody would be so unpatriotic as to suggest that the US would sabotage its own ship with a bomb in the forward powder magazine, and kill nearly 300 of its own sailors, to provide a casus belli for an imperialist war that was all ready to roll.

Would they?

Maybe someday we’ll know for sure what happened on September 11. Maybe we’ll also find out the truth about the the Branch Davidian assault, the Kennedy assassinations, and the sinking of the USS Maine.

Until then, we have two choices: believe the official explanation, or do not. Hugo Chavez evidently does not. The fact that he happens to be a Communist dictator scumbag is completely beside the point.

Not believing the official explanation and accusing Bush for the attacks are not exactly the same thing.

I think the fact that he is a communist scumbag IS the entire point here. Him coming out and running his mouth like he did/does makes the tin-foil hat brigade look even more tin-foilier.

Sure, let’s discredit all those who don’t believe like us, after all, “if you’re not with us, you’re with the terrorists”

Yeah right.

The fall of the towers have been explained by various qualified experts, in various proffesional journals, examined by various Universities. Structural damage, with the addition of heat, caused the collapses. And, explosive-demo has been ruled out. At this point, arguing that explosives were involved is like arguing the earth is flat.

Sure, and we didn’t know the Japs were going to attack Pearl Harbor either…

I’m sensing a shift on T-Nation from predominantly Republican morons (SteveO, HH) to predominantly Democrat morons (ssn0, this guy).

Yay for bipartisanism!

The article mentioned Chavez giving credence to the explosives theory. I mentioned that the theory has been repeatedly debunked, and the collapses explained with cold hard science. Not sure what your Pearl Harbor comment has to do with that.

dude, all the guy said was that it bears investigation.

that’s IT.

He didn’t accuse bush or the US g’vt of SHIT, so quit the goddamn hate mongering.

…and he’s NOT a communist, he’s a SOCIALIST.

…and he’s not a dictator, he was democratically elected.

…ya know… that thing called DEMOCRACY… where people VOTE for their president… and the one who WINS ends up in office.

THAT thing.

That’d be nice, wouldn’t it?

Are you referring to me? If so you are wrong. This guy CONSTANTLY puts out this anti-American crap and NOTHING else. Who’s the hater? Where was I hating?

Investigating bullshit is a waste of money don’t you think?

Plus with all the shit the libs preach about total incompetency in the White House, how the hell would they be able to pull off a conspiracy like 9-11?

COMPLETE BS.

When I hate you’ll know it.

I think Knew was talking to RJ…

Damn hater.

While not a member of the communist party, he certainly seems to swing that way.

And just because Jimmy Carter gave the election the AOK, doesn’t mean that he was fairly elected.

Oh, and don’t forget Castro always wins 100% of the vote.
