Coolest Equation Ever

Akin to the ‘Best Alpha Male Quotes’ thread, I’ve decided to start my own thread.

What’s your favorite equation?

I’ll start:

X = X(0) + V(0)t + (1/2)at^2

i like to keep mine short and simple.

F=ma

Eulers equation:
e^iX = cosX + iSinX

From this he proved ln(-1) = pi.

It is not only the basis for the physical meaning of complex numbers but very few fundamental equations seem to contain all the most fucked up elements of math(e, pi, i)

A^z + B^z = C^z

Heh, for cool-looking, I nominate the Helmholtz Differential Equation in Spherical coordinates. Hurray for seperation of variables!

Anything using PSI as a variable is also cool…

But, aye, I, too, like it simple:

Fnet = dp/dt

gets my vote.

I thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for bringing back my nightmares. There will be no sleep tonight.

-FC

integral of E to the X equals to the Function sub U of N.

E = mc^2

Einstein rules!

y=mx+b

Gotta agree with good old Newtons equation of motion:

Force=mass*acceleration

So many equations are derived from this basic principle!

hands+boobs=fun

math sucks.

I always enjoyed the hype around calculus:

You + Me = Us

Beyond that I would have to go with something simple:

Fick Equation:
VO2 = Q x (a - v 02 Diff)

Diff EQ can chew on my sweaty gym shorts!

took that class twice… nothing like ONE equation turning into two pages of F’d up mumbo jumbo

a to the mother fkn k home boy,
a to the mother fkn k!

ProteinPowda = Sex Machine

Thinking equations are cool= You probably aren’t cool.

PharmDPete’s is kinda nice, because of its simplicity, but my favorite (to say out loud, anyway) has always been:

e to the i pi = -1

Just because it’s so cool that they found a way to get to -1 through multiplication; when I learned that in late high school, and it blew away a fundamental math concept that had been drummed into me for years, I realized that math had endless possibilities.

I later learned the Fibonacci sequence and its amazing applications–fantastic.

what are the applications?

One application is the Sybase Logo.
mwwwaaa haaa haa…oh, wait. Man, that was a techno-geek response if ever there was one.

Look in nature, you’ll see Fibonacci all over the place.

Math doesn’t suck, it is the basis for all the technology you use today. Yeah it can be difficult, but without it you wouldn’t be able to write “math sucks.” on this forum.
