Cooking Suggestions for Herring

Hi, i’ve bought some smoked herrings for the first time and it smells and tastes awful!! I tried to eat some with tomatoe sauce. almost no changes…

Do you have any cooking suggestions that will help me to handle the taste, so i’ll never buy it again…

Also, there’s so much salt in it…thats just too much!

I usually just grill it, sometimes get the boil in the bag kippers but they can be salty depending on where you get them from.

I’ve never had smoked herring. I buy the large jars of pickled. Last night I ate way to much of it, and felt bloated for hours. Nonetheless, I love eating them.
