Consultation with Defy Tomorrow. Nervous if TRT is Right for Me

How low was your T @systemlord?

After a week on clomid (and a little while after), I was definitely less set off by things. Friends wanted to be around me again etc. Still the same stressors, but I felt like I was 22 again and in charge of them, not constantly overwhelmed like an old fart in an office.

Why did you take CDG?

I scored a 225 ng/dL on the first test and 119 ng/dLon the second test, FT was barely above to bare bottom of the ranges. I had anemia and muscle atrophy, muscles were wasting. I felt like a 100 year old man, climbing stairs was a chore. The couch became my friend, spent more time on it then in bed. When getting up to go to the bathroom is a chore you know you not doing well. I was 44 at the time.

The cause of low T was the Klonopin useage, I had been on or 30 years and when I started tapering off problems began. I never recovered.

Assumed my E2 was elevated (low libido, ED, moodiness) from the clomid, and read positive things about it lowering E2.

It definitely did something, because my E2 was <20 a week ago. Still really irritable too, more than before it. Probably that + T dropping is making things rough.

Here’s a guy who claims to have had a similar issue (but there were other factors):

Funny I was really “into” klonopin years ago too. Glad I got away from it.

My T isn’t as low as yours was, but my symptoms aren’t as bad either. I guess this spring has also introduced a whole new set of responsibilities (business growing, changes in my side job, new car, new girlfriend, new roommate), and I may just be cracking under the pressure of it all. I don’t feel all of the added responsibilities are too outlandish either - and it’s nothing I wouldn’t expect myself to be able to handle reasonably well. Instead I’m staying in bed more and more, avoiding anything challenging, and well…acting like a bitch instead of a man. While on clomid I found myself rising to the challenge much better.

Even 2 weeks after clomid (T around 700) I was up at night knocking out lots of work. Now I’m back to getting nothing done and just avoiding it. Not it.

Side question: with an E2 of “<20”, how long does it take to rebuild that typically?

Well we don’t know an exact number because it is just saying less than 20. But It doesn’t sound like you crashed it. Few days, a week maybe.

Cool, I’m probably mostly over it by now then. I also don’t want to start TRT (esp with an AI) until that especially is back to normal.

Shoot for NOT using an AI if possible.

Aren’t those pretty standard fare these days? What’s your reasoning? I’d be thrilled if I could do just T.

Amen

If you can do TRT without an AI, why wouldn’t you?

I don’t know where your SHBG is, but that will be a determining factor, also aromatization varies from person to person.

Doing TRT without an AI is possible. Some like to keep their free test higher and that will cause increase e2 issues.

Its a personal choice really.

Don’t get into that mindset either. When I started reading this forum, I kept reading that E2 needed to be in the low 20’s, 22 preferably. I chased that number so much that I pretty much wasted my first year on TRT, screwing with my e2. (not fun)

My e2 hangs around 30 and I feel amazing. Its not black and white, standard fare, ABC.

The protocol here is something like. 1mg of Anastrazole per 100mg of test. If you are a high SHBG guy, that will CRUSH your e2. So that’s what I mean about it not being standardized.

Your so right. Am doing the same thing now. And like you an at 30 and felt the need to get closer to 22 thing the 30 is causing my bloat belly. But am seeing if it’s something else.

At 30 though it appsars I need Cialis . But I rather take that then ai

Am so glad you said that.

why would doctors would put you on klonopin for thirty years? Benzos are meant to be short term solutions are they not?

It just goes to show you how stupid most doctors really are and incompetent, they hand out SSRIs is like they’re candy and don’t bother checking your hormone levels as you’re taking them.

Yet they religiously check your hormone levels when you’re on TRT. There’s a lack of common sense in this world.
