Conditioning

I train in traditional arts, and we spend just a little bit of time on general conditioning. I’d like to start focusing on conditioning outside of class, and take it up a few levels. I’ve read some good ideas on the board (like gi pull-ups), and I wanted to hear some more, and build a routine I can do on my own that didn’t consist of just running, or require the work capacity of a pro.

Stair runs and sprints. A good 20-30 minute set of stairs followed by some sprints is great.

We might do:

8 flights x 20 repetitions
then,
10 shuttle sprints.

Or, 8 flights x 20 repetitions
then,
8 flights x 5 repetitions with a partner on your back.

Pain.
