hhmm…cool trailer,BUT…I don’t know. We shall see.
Yeah, I’m on the fence about this as well. This was one of my favorite movies as a kid and I’m not sure how I feel about it being remade.
It looks like 300, just with different creatures and people.
Who am I kidding though? I’m still going to see it.
Shit…
Go legendary
For some reason I thought the thread title was Remember the Titans. You can imagine my surprise at the swords, suits of armor, and giant creatures.
Hmm, looks promising.
Rule number 36 when making period pieces: Dont have an electric guitar and drums rocking out in the background it kills the realism. My prediction is it will do well at the box office but critics will shit all over it.

That’s really all the production company cares about.
If ever there was a movie that needed a special effects upgrade, this is it. This was one of my favorite movies as a kid, but I couldn’t re-watch it as an adult. It looked awful and it wasn’t just because of age and technology, it just looked cheap.

The effects do look good. I’m just worried that they’ll muck with the story and ruin the things that were great about it. Change things just for the sake of changing them. Stuff like that.
RELEASE THE CRACKEN!
(This movie probably won’t be good… Shame that’s it going to taint a good name.)

I agree. And while the trailer looked nice visually, nothing about it made me definitely want to see it.
I actually saw the original, as young as I am, and it was pretty cool, but this trailer has like, no content to it. It just has a bunch of 2 second action cuts…I mean it just seems like it’s trying to draw in people for the action and none of the story.

Hence the name “teaser” trailer… you fetus, you:)

I have never seen a trailer with “content.” I think it’s an oxymoron.
Like a few others have said, this was one of my favorites as a little guy. It was also one of my dads favorites, and I wish he was still around to see this. Honestly, the trailer doesn’t look that good to me, but I’m sure I’ll catch it on the big screen.
Liam Neeson as Zeus, and the trailer looks like it could be a fun action movie if nothing else.

Oh hell…my bad.

The clay-mation monsters in the first one were dying for an upgrade. I can’t believe that people who accepted that as “realistic” when that movie came out are now so picky about movies that billions of dollars worth of CGI doesn’t even phase them anymore.
I liked the first one as a little kid…but it was also slow paced and I am sure there are at least 3 or 4 scenes that were truly snore-worthy.
They waited a decent amount of time to do a remake…but if they really try to be another 300, I think they will fail at it.
