Difficult to get carbs in post workout so want to add chocolate syrup in my protein drink. Is that ok?
I do it, but that doesn’t mean its ok.

You can add it, doesn’t mean it’s optimal as it’s mostly empty sugar and offers no health benefits. If you’re taking the IIFYM approach, carbs are carbs. If you want a better option, you can easily add raw oats, or cereal, a banana is portable and very easy on the stomach, piece of fruit, etc.
