I did a search and could find this no where…
I would like to know if chocolate spikes insulin levels enough to be used in a post workout shake?
Thanks for any help…
DA
I guess it depends on what chocolate product you are talking about. If you are talking about a lump of chocolate then the answer is NO!
The fat in the chocolate will slow the absorption of the other nutrients in the shake and thus flatten you insulin spike.
On the other hand if you are talking about one of those kids shake powers (like Nesquik) then there is sugar and not a lot else in these, which would be better suited.
If this is what you have then it would fit but I am sure there are better things to use.
