Chins - How Good For Lats?

Everyone - thanks again for the informative posts. It has certainly cleared up some misconceptions on my part. I guess chins DO hit the lats quite well (of course, dependent upon form). They were so effective on biceps for me that I thought that the lats weren’t being majorly stressed.

I guess I’ll continue what I was doing before. Rows (which are more of a mid back exercise for me) and chins one day, deadlifts and chins the other. Using pullups on tabata day.

That is, until its time to switch around again

interesting. I find it interesting when people think rows really do much for the lats. they don’t.

Maybe you’re performing them incorrectly or are simply anatomically unresponsive to them.

the arm action of the rows puts primary emphasis on the traps, posterior deltoid, teres minor/major, and biceps. please explain how the lats come into play.
