Your link didn’t work for me.
A high court in South Africa ruled on Wednesday that Chinese-South Africans will be reclassified as ??black,?? a term that includes black Africans, Indians and others who were subject to discrimination under apartheid. As a result of this ruling, ethnically Chinese citizens will be able to benefit from government affirmative action policies aimed at undoing the effects of apartheid.

In 2006, the Chinese Association of South Africa sued the government, claiming that its members were being discriminated against because they were being treated as whites and thus failed to qualify for business contracts and job promotions reserved for victims of apartheid.

The association successfully argued that, since Chinese-South Africans had been treated unequally under apartheid, they should be reclassified in order to redress wrongs of the past.
A Chinese South African by any other name…

Lol, this is like the real-life racial draft from Chappelle’s show when the blacks selected Tiger Woods.

I wonder if the SA cricket team will have a quota for chinese players now.

Pretty bold move on South Africa’s part picking the worlds largest demographic.

On behalf of white people everywhere I claim (sub continental) Indians are now white.

Wait wait…

So Chinese citizens claimed they were being discriminated against because they were being treated as white citizens??

So wouldnt that mean that white citizens would have a right to claim that they were being discriminated against also?

Shhh. Don’t point out the flaws in the logic of affirmative action. Fuckin’ racist.

In turn I now claim whites as American Indians. I’ve always thought I was cut out for casino management.

I like the new avatar btw.

So regardless of how anyone was treated prior to the 1970’s…why should it be any more beneficial for a person to be classified as being of one race or another?

“Hey guys, we messed up and discriminated against you and were sorry. To make up for it, well descriminate against someone else instead.”

How much sense does that make?

huh? I thought you were asking a question about the fact that for part of apartheid, chinese were considered “honorary whites,” not debating the merits of affirmative action, which has already been done to death.
