Daughter plays in conf tourney finals today… a win and its back to the NCAA’s …so this is either a happy day or a sad day…we shall see…

Peace

Nice work, Paul!
Best of luck at the tourney! Happy days are preferred…

Good work OG. Hopefully the result was good for your daughter’s team.

Thanks Guys, unfortunately they lost… my daughter took it surprisingly well considering she is prone to “drama”! My son took the train and showed up in support ( and looking to appease Mom on mothers day) with his “new” girlfriend. We all went out afterwards and had a bite and talked about the game.

The good news, the loss saved me about $1000-$1200 in travel, hotel, rental car, food, kenneling our dogs, etc etc. as we would have had to go to MD. ( to get spanked).

Peace

Awww… sorry she didn’t win.

Well, at least she took it well. Everyone got to get together. And…you saved money in the long run.
I would count it as a successful outing.

Thanks CL and Skip…shhhh I consider it a WIN !!!

oh man, Tuesday my wife got her hand caught in a machine at her company, she was doing a dumb thing ( her words) Her hand got harpooned by some metal fingers that fold boxes in an automated line…13 stitches, some tendon damage. Two of the metal fingers went into her upper palm and up her finger and a metal bar that holds the box clamped on her knuckle…13 stitches later. And for the record, seeing the inside of a human hand up close is not something that enriches ones life.

… see a hand specialist tomorrow to see if the tendon needs repair. I felt bad for her( at least that’s what I told her), so I bought her a new car…Well actually we needed one( that’s another story)…and her company pays for it. So I was just the stooge who had to go and make a deal. I hate buying cars.

Long story short, my caloric intake has been near zero and sleep not any better. So in light of that I pushed off working out. I did manage to mow my lawn while she was napping. I have a walk behind self propelled mower… Well the cable for the self propel broke last year and opted not to fix it and have basically turned my mower into a prowler ( self propelled mowers that don’t self propel do not like to roll) it takes twice as long to do my yard (2hrs) and its a helluva conditioning workout. Thankfully the UPS guy needed my signature ( 1 break) and then someone sent Lisa an edible arrangement that I had to sign for ( break #2)…When my conditioning improves to the point where it gets easier I’ll throw on my vest ( the vest doubles as neighbor deterrent and drink holder)

Hope to get back in the gym tomorrow for some Zercher love.

OG, I am sorry to hear that! Hopefully the tendon is okay and she heals up quickly!
Machines will be the death of us all!
Please give her my well wishes.

I have a couple of walk behind mowers. I use the push and the kids use the self-propelled…at least for now.
My oldest son (Mr. Autie) doesn’t like to sweat and spends most of his mowing time asking if he can be done now. If I say no, he will get peeved and not use the self-propel, but still keep mowing. I think he believes he is punishing me, while he is the one sweating it out.
I love that kid…lol.

Hope the news for your wife is positive from the specialist.

Awww… sending well wishes to you both. Hope she is better soon.

And I definitely feel your pain on the mower. One of my peeps’ property is on the river bank, and you have to turn the self propelled part off, because it will kill the mower. When I was mowing the other day I thought " prowler my ass!" Lol

I hope your wife recovers completely. That accident seemed like a scene in a bad movie.

God Speed with the recovery; first line of your post just turned my stomach.
Now go lift some stuff, good for the Soul.

Thanks all,

she is doing well… hand specialist wants to wait for the swelling to go down and late next week do an MRI ( that way he doesn’t disrupt the healing… he was slightly more positive about no surgery …provide she continues to have unction improve…what a week.

And no, I did not get gym this AM… just tuckered out so tomorrow I will saddle up.

ended the week on up note: our daughter was named captain of her lacrosse team for next year…
